Since 2011, we’ve helped people reconnect with the healing power of plants. What began with simple herbal nature walks and a letter-based study course has grown into our signature Year Round Course and a growing range of offerings.
At the heart of the Herb Academy is Tara Isadora Áine Mari. Her path began over 20 years ago, when personal health challenges and stress led her to reconnect with the powers of herbs. She started growing her own – often with the help of her bunnies, who taught her a lot about edible plants and the differences between herbs. 😉
About 15 years ago, Tara participated with success in a herb school. She learned all the basics hands-on from an experienced herb fairy who not only knew many practical applications, but had also studied herbs and medicinal plants at university level.
Living with the Herbs, Learning Every Day
Tara has continued to study the powers of herbs and plants ever since. We actually believe there are no plants without magical use. The more we get to know them, the more amazing they become to us.
Through wild foraging, trial and error of recipes, and application of plants in many areas of her life from hair dye to cleaning the house, Tara has a thorough and deep understanding of the workings of plants, herbs, and spices. She has also published a small herbal guide.
Where Herbal Wisdom Meets Online Learning
Oh, we almost forgot. Tara’s main expertise is actually in e-learning – she’s an instructional designer and consultant. So with the interactive Calendula Herb Academy online courses, you get the best of two worlds united.
As a certified trainer, coach, and psychological consultant with additional training in nutrition, Ayurveda, meditation, and hypnosis, she crafts effective online courses focused on herbal applications for both mind and body – and also offers personal coaching sessions.
